Seaeyes recomissioned
At last I got my own X60s again! I ordered my own IBM X60s from www.laptops.dk. Unfortunately I forgot to change the 8 cell battery back to a smaller 4 cell battery, so the laptop has a rather deformed back.
I had quite a bit of trouble getting it back online using my old stage4 tarball. First the stage somehow lacked the kernel and Grub. Grub was rather unhappy with the /dev/sdb device nodes missing. After solving those problems I was ready to bring it back to life. Unfortunately it shouldn't be that easy :-/ It turns out that my new X60s needs another driver for the SATA controller than my previous X60s. So when I finally compiled a new kernel with AHCI SATA support it booted! Previously I used Intel PIIX/ICH SATA support.
It's nice to be a bit more mobile again and have Seaeyes back in the faimly :-)
